Her actions have inspired generations and continue to hold significance today. She became a symbol of brave civilian resistance and opposition to Hitler’s dictatorship, not only in politics but also in everyday life.<br \/>\nThe biography exhibition “Sophie Scholl and the White Rose” delves into the personal experiences behind this iconic figure of the time. The exhibition consists of 14 display boards that tell the story of how Sophie Scholl courageously opposed war and dictatorship without hesitation. What personal experiences shaped her? What beliefs made her disregard her own safety? In life-threatening circumstances, what gave her support and hope? Through Sophie Scholl’s own poignant letters and diary excerpts, the exhibition portrays a young woman who fearlessly resisted the Nazi regime. The displayed photographs from family archives offer insights into the mundane and private moments of her life.<br \/>\nThe film “Sophie Scholl: The Final Days” (2005), directed by Marc Rothemund, strives to adhere closely to historical facts (based on original interrogation records) while presenting the story as a drama. With sharp insight and a fresh historical interpretation, the young director Marc Rothemund successfully portrays the near-legendary historical figure, Sophie Scholl. The film won two Silver Bears at the Berlin Film Festival in 2005: Best Director for Marc Rothemund and Best Actress for Julia Jentsch. It also received a nomination for the Golden Bear and an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film in 2006.<\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","categories":[36],"event_category":[70],"class_list":["post-5684","events","type-events","status-publish","hentry","category-a4-residency","event_category-residency-exhibition"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.a4artmuseum.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/events\/5684","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.a4artmuseum.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/events"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.a4artmuseum.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/events"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.a4artmuseum.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=5684"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.a4artmuseum.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=5684"},{"taxonomy":"event_category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.a4artmuseum.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/event_category?post=5684"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
