It is an object that both bears and captures energy, much like our lives.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>During the performance, the elastic band stretches as the artist moves, while he cuts the ropes wound around his body one by one until the vase at the other end falls. In previous performances, the artist has emphasized the process over the outcome, leaving the fate of the vase\u2014whether it shatters or not\u2014an open question.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Guest Introduction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sebasti\u00e1n Mahaluf: Born in 1976, Sebasti\u00e1n Mahaluf is a post-war and contemporary artist from Chile and a professor of visual arts. Since 1998, his works have been exhibited in countries including Chile, Argentina, Brazil, the United States, China, Italy, France, the Philippines, Scotland, Finland, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Turkey. With a career spanning over two decades, he has served as a visual arts professor at four of Chile&#8217;s top universities, bringing extensive educational experience to his practice. His works have been showcased in prominent galleries and museums, such as BronxArtSpace.
