What is Max\/MSP?<\/p>\n
In the hands of a media artist, Max is not just ordinary software; it is the “ultimate DIY instrument builder.” It discards tedious lines of code in favor of connecting “functional boxes” like electrical wires, allowing you to freely manipulate sound, imagery, and data.<\/p>\n
This time, we are doing something different:<\/p>\n
We refuse dry, solo practice! Led by artist Wang Changcun, we will go from “zero” to “one,” entering a “commune-style” carnival of collective sound creation.<\/p>\n
Hands-on for Beginners: We will bypass complex theories and directly create your own simple sound sampler through graphical patching.<\/p>\n
Sound Sampling: Capture sound fragments on-site and learn how to transform shards of the real world into timbres of the digital realm.<\/p>\n
Collective Discharge: This is the coolest part of the workshop! Everyone joins the same local network, where each person’s sampler acts as a neuron, initiating an unpredictable session of collective sampling.<\/p>\n
