Since 2015, he has drawn on his phone screen with his fingertips—on the subway, in the hospital, in the bathtub, or while traveling. Over ten years, more than 5,000 works have accumulated into a continuously expanding “lexicon of the everyday,” encompassing landscapes, still lifes, dreams, and myths. These images capture fleeting experiences and transform ordinary moments into symbolic narratives.

This practice resonates with C. G. Jung’s Red Book, where painting became a dialogue with the unconscious. Similarly, Liu Yi’s mobile drawings weave together reality and dream, forming a personal visual diary that also reflects traces of the collective unconscious, inviting viewers to encounter their own shared memories and archetypes.

Since 2022, Liu Yi has extended this exploration through Birdsong Radio, a participatory project collecting bird sounds from around the world and developing workshops and public art initiatives. This exhibition highlights his collaboration with A4 Art Museum on the “Anti-Bird Collision” program, linking artistic practice with ecological awareness and community engagement.

Lexicon of the Everyday encapsulates Liu Yi’s decade-long exploration: finding myths in the ordinary, and wholeness within the fleeting moments of daily life.

[1
42
post-6194","exhibitions","type-exhibitions","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-a4-art-museum","exhibitions_category-yishujiagean
["GET
