This year\u2019s theme,\u00a0\u201cNature\u00b7Balance\u00b7Play\u201d\u00a0celebrates children&#8217;s creative engagement with\u00a0nature, and encourages a harmonious balance of mind and body by returning to nature and exploring the wisdom therein. By using nature as a connecting\u00a0thread, this year\u2019s festival aims to connect the educational networks across families, schools and the wider community. It seeks to create a cross-disciplinary platform for child-centred learning, in collaboration with educators, scholars and artists. Through art and play, the exhibition\u00a0creates a interconnected and joyful \u201cplayground\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cNature\u00b7Balance\u00b7Play\u201d exhibition is driven by the iSTART co-creation team, engaging over 4,000 children and adults in its co-creative process. The exhibition\u00a0brings together voices from\u00a0education, charity, and game research and other interdisciplinary fields. It highlights collaborative projects that empower children to speak for themselves. Key\u00a0highlights include the \u201cThe Microbial Lab\u201d initiated by little curator; \u201cTears of Nature\u201d, a project linking emotional expression with the natural world; \u201cCity\u2019s Patch\u201d, which protects tree holes as part of urban ecological care; \u201cMobile Tree Hole\u201d, a children\u2019s voice expression initiative supported by the Luxelake Social Development Foundation; \u201cSave Unhappiness\u201d, a project co-created by Chengdu Worry Relief Social Work Service Center and Curious Learning Community. Visitors can also see \u201cGaga Nation\u201d, which explores language and civilization; \u201cMei Wan Mei Liao Bookstore\u201d, a children-led bookstore exploring the endless possibilities of books; \u201cStray Shop x Warrior Cats\u201d, which focuses on stray animals and operates a charity store; \u201cT+ Aesthetic Education Development Support Program for Rural Educators\u201d and other iSTART&#8217;s signature projects. The exhibition also features artist-initiated projects, including \u201cRe-act\u201d, a collocative project with A4 Residency Art\u00a0Center. This exhibition is designed as a participatory experience\u00a0for children, led by the \u201cFun Design Club\u201d initiated by architect Kai and firmfirm Design Studio. Children were deeply involved in every stage\u2014from the exhibition layout to the creation of the core visual symbol, the \u201cSeed.\u201d By blending professional guidance with children&#8217;s creativity, this exhibition aims to present a genuinely child-friendly space. This year&#8217;s iSTART Children&#8217;s Art Festival continues its playful approach to the exhibition, inviting audience\u00a0to explore\u00a0the\u00a0exhibition as \u201cSeed Warriors\u201d, collecting and generating their own energy and seeds. Along the way, the audiences could discover their connection to nature, mind and body, and creativity\u2014all through a playful way.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the themed exhibitions, iSTART will host a series of public events throughout the summer, from May to August. The 11th\u00a0Children&#8217;s Art Festival will open with the iSTART Children Carnival on LuxeIsland. During the exhibition period, we will also present monthly themed events, the Annual Education Forum during the closing ceremony and many more engaging programs.
