Wang Di: There is a picture but no truth, and seeing is hard to believe

  • Guest speaker:
    Wang Di

Introduction

Images can be used to testify to history, but there are many issues and limitations in the process of using them. It is not necessarily true that having images means having authenticity, as the formation of images is a subjective act of humans and cannot be completely objective. Only through suspicion, criticism, and analysis of images can we truly find valuable insights and avoid biases and misguidance.

On Sunday, January 7th, exhibition advisor Wang Di will be invited to deliver an academic lecture on the methodology of “using images to testify to history” for the audience in Chengdu.
