Book of Plants: Handmade Book Workshop

Introduction

The Handmade Book Workshop invites participants to experiment with and explore the interactive possibilities of reading through a 3-dimensional lens.

The artist will introduce essential bookbinding tools and teach foundational thread-binding techniques. Participants will also discover various creative playstyles for artistic inner pages, using their own hands to craft a unique, personalized botanical book. We encourage participants to bring their own collected materials, such as botanical specimens, found objects, or photographs. By combining simple structural forms with individual materials and design, everyone will leave the workshop with their very own handmade Book of Plants.

    上海视觉艺术学院公共艺术专业负责人、副教授。上海创意设计工作者协会理事。IPA国际公共艺术协会研究员。61CREATIVE创办人。
    他通过绘画、雕塑、装置、影像、表演等不同形式的创作来探索身体与空间、精神与物质、个体与公众、文化的在地性与抽离感等议题和关系。他日复一日的手机数码绘画创作中展现的古典造型与当代色彩的独特风格诠释了他对生命的好奇以及神话般的想象、个人的记忆和生活的经历。看似儿童般的信手涂鸦，却又强烈地透露出成年个体的生命体验，让观众有着强烈的代入感。同时他对数字媒介、物性材料与创作主题之间的叙事关系发生兴趣，涌现了大量以日常生活和社会现场为语境的平面或空间艺术作品。
