Introduction

The ‘Pond Impressions’ project was initiated by Daigang Liu, a community curator for the A4 Art Museum OPEN-class. This project focuses on the ‘ponds’ and ‘puddles’ of Luye Park as specific sites of study, utilising the art of rubbings to explore the ‘behaviours’ and the resulting ‘traces or imprints’ of the flora and fauna found within them.
In this workshop, we will focus on the technique of rubbing. You are invited to join us in conducting rubbing experiments and crafting them into a bespoke handmade book—creating a personal nature observation manual that captures the enduring traces of the natural world.
